Can't get Populous to run on Windows XP?
First things first: don't despair - there is a patch! Quite a few people, including myself, have already used this patch and have had no problems afterwards. There are other downloads available (see the downloads page for the various other patches)
So here's what you have to do:
STEP 1: Install Populous: The Beginning
STEP 2: Download the patch (XP has an unzipper or use WinZip)
STEP 3: Place in Populous directory (usually C:\Program Files\Bullfrog\Populous) and run patch.bat
And now Populous should work. If it doesn't, then:
STEP 4: Reinstall Populous (the game will prompt you to uninstall and then reinstall) and then follow Steps 1 to 3 again.
