Building a base

Why to write an article about base bulding? This is such an obvious thing... hmm not really :p Building is one of the most important things in the game. More huts -> more braves -> more mana and troops. Experienced players have useful tricks, which help them in fast expanding their bases.

In almost all maps it’s better to build huts very close and symetrical especially when space for buildings is rather small. By doing so you can build more huts and get more braves. But there also exist maps on which close building is the biggest mistake. Good example of such maps is Dead Sea – there we build huts as far as it’s possible.

At the beginning we usually have 6 braves. To build a base in the fastest way, we take one brave to a one hut plan. But when base is quite big we can take 2 braves to each hut plan – hut building is faster and when work ends, 2 braves with one new born brave go into the hut and we have a full hut -> fast hut upgrade.

Focus on speed – you can train fast building and hut upgrading in a single player game.

Never stop building new huts and use all the available free space. If map is rather small (like blue tribe in FO map) you can use lb (land bridge spell) to make new ground. Remember that it’s much easier to destroy small a base with only few huts than a huge one with plenty of buildings.

Best place for a firewarrior hut and a warrior hut is the centre or back of the base. If we build it in front of the base, enemy will quickly destroy it using a tornado spell.

Defending is important but camping is just an example of stupid behaviour, so don’t build too many towers especially in one place. It is a waste of wood and experienced player will have no problem with your defence and will crush it with one or two spells. The most powerful are towers in strategic and important places like hills. Constantly attack your oppenent so he won''t have time to use his spells on your base.

Be careful with wood amount. On maps there usually isn''t enough trees to support your full base. Don’t make new hut plans if there''s not enough wood to build them. Full tree has 4 pieces of wood.
