Popms hacked

Popms has been hacked and recruited into botnet. Attackers had full access to php files and entire database, and that's why it's recommended to change your password to forum and all other places it's being used. Passwords need to be cracked one by one, and it's some time required to break them, but patient attackers can break them eventually.
Two, critical security issues have been used to defeat protection of the server. The first one used manipulation of the superglobal session table in phpmyadmin. The second one used inproper sanity check of user input in IPB forum.
All files and database have been restored to versions from before the attack. Latest changes to database (latest forum posts and bugtracker tickets) and server's files have been restored manually. Security issues in phpmyadmin and IPB forum have been resolved - access to phpmyadmin have been restricted and latest version of the script have been installed, latest security patches have been applied to forum script.
Meeting of the Populous fans in Poland

Last three days of September - 28, 29 and 30 - a meeting of Populous fans has taken a place in the Poland in Poznań. Fans had been playing populous whole days, nights and making new friend connections. Everybody received Populous t-shirt which suppose to remind about positive emotions on the meeting. Players who attended this year:

Summary of the 2011

Year 2011 was a time of the dynamic expansion of the Mana Source. We'd like to thank all people, whose hard work keeps this place and Populous legend alive. We moved website to the faster and more reliable server, we setup new, multilingual website, forums and bugtracker. These were projects which required much effort from us. Thanks to user "Ninja" we have the cool (bull)frog in the corner of this text :) We didn't succed in releasing new program to play online this year but we can promise, that significant work has been done, and there shouldn't elapse much time before public tests.
We think this year was also a good time for Populous community and Populous related projects. Popre finally (first plans related to update of the site were around August 2009) has moved to the new phpbb3 system and, thanks to the Apnea's support, new layout of the site which, although still quite buggy, seems to be better than the previous one. IncaWarrior learned programming and finally fixed many bugs in the mm, introduced by him in the previous updates of the program.
Another significant progress was the patch 1.04, prepared by the Alex, which fixed couple of bugs and limitations of the game. Although Alex left community some time ago and doesn't support his walfadia project any more but his work proves that Populous community is going well, despite missing few clever guys like Alacn, TedTycoon or TeratO.
Populous resurrection was being more and more abandoned this year. On the other hand, new program to play new single player campaign has been released by the "Populous Online" project with the positive feedback of the Populous fans. "Populous Online" project has also moved to the new website and refreshed content of the site.
We believe year 2012 will be even better for Populous community. We wish all of you Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
New website for Mana Source

We bring you, dear users, our new website, as we promised some time ago. Together with this new website you can find now much more information about our projects. We reviewed also the links to other populous websites and added support for RSS channels.
Populous Mana Source is getting bigger, more independent and, first of all, more open for help from new contributors. We're working on our Multiplayer Platform to give you a new quality of experience on playing Populous online. We're also working on removing the most critical bugs from the game. The first, public demonstration of our program should take place within a couple of months.
We're always looking for people who are ready to devote their free time to make Populous even more enjoyable, and who want to support the Populous Community. Take a look at our development information and consider joining our staff.
As you can notice we support now three new languages - Spanish, Portuguese and German; together with the already supported ones - English and Polish. Many people have worked hard to make this website real. We used the popular CMS Joomla! - to be able to control the extended content of the website and all the translations. We already have around 35 articles, which, with their translations, gives us over 170 pages of articles!
