Many players at the beginning think that the game has simple rules but after a match with somebody with a shaman rank they change their mind. "He crashed me too fast! It’s impossible to charge spells that quickly! I’m sure he cheated..." All players think like that when they just started playing online populous and that’s why you can find many advices on this site.

Every new player should finish single player game first because online games are much more faster and difficult and experienced players usually don’t play with newbies – new players play horribly bad.

Remember that your first few games with more experienced players are going to be very hard – opponents are fast and it’s difficult to stop their shamans. A lot of players play this game for years with the best players from all over the world. Everyone who has played multiplayer for a month thinks that single player is very easy.
