How to put your followers into huts? Select idle group of braves, hold Shift key and click on a hut picture on a buildings panel. Barves will go to empty huts. Braves firstly go to the biggest huts (to gain more mana) and then to the smaller ones. We can do similar with sending braves to training huts. Select group of braves, hold Shift key and then click on fw hut or warrior hut picture on buildings panel. Braves will go to the training huts. Braves firstly go to these training huts, which have the shortest queue.

You can make groups of followers. Select few followers, hold Shift key and then press 1-6 key. Now you can select your group by pressing 1-6 key. I have never used it and I have never seen any player using it.

Useful thing is a camera view saving. Hold Shift key and press one of these keys: Z, X, C, V. Now you can select saved camera view by pressing Z, X, C or V. Usualy there is not enough time for this.

You can put hut plans in the global view - it's fast and safe (you can see enemy moves) way to build huts on huge maps. In normal view press Enter and just after this, click on hut picture on buildings panel. If you are fast enough you will able to put hut plans in global view. Hold Ctrl key and put plans that you have selected.

Sometimes you have to cast a lot of blasts because, for example, enemy have sent warriors or braves towards you. You can turn off charging all spell apart from this which you want to charge fast like blast/lightning. Hold Ctrl key and click on spell. To turn off/on charging all spells hold Shift key and click on any spell.

An interesting key is L key. I use it when I want to select followers from some area in huts or fws from towers.

Often, especially when game i comming to an end, you need to attack fast enemies base using warriors. How to send one or two warriors to each hut in the fastest way? Select group of warriors, click on hut, click once or twice on button in blue square, then click on other hut, on blue square. This is also useful and the fastest way to send braves to hut plans. Select few braves, click on hut plan, click on blue square, then on other hut plan, on blue square.

To move your camera faster hold Shift key. Similar effect is when you move cursor to the edge of screen.

There are 4-camera views. You can select them by pressing keys - and = (they have also symbols _ and +).

populous camera view

Press in default view key = (+). Now you can see the details of the game. Useless view, players use it sometimes for screenshots.

populous camera view

This is default view in game. It is comfortable for blast and lightning fight. It's easy to control troops and buildings.

populous camera view

This view is very comfortable for building and for troop controlling in base. Area view is large what is helpful in hut plan putting, harvesting etc. Some players (like me) use it instead of default view. Most useful is with 1024 x 768 and higher screen resolutions.

populous camera view

Players use global view to look around on map and to look at situation in game. You can't cast spell or control troops in this view but you can put plans what can be useful in huge maps like Dead See. To go fast to this view hold Shift key and press enter.

Tweaked minimap is a very common game modification used by all good players. It allows to see enemy's moves without camera changing. Shamans are marked as bigger points, you can also see large amounts of the troops. That's why expierienced players know almost all of your moves during the game.

default minimap tweaked minimap

To enable this tweaked minimap we have to use cheat mode (!) in single player game.

  1. Run single player game, press TAB + F11 and write in the new window: byrne.
  2. Now cheat mode is enabled. Hold O key and keep pressing down arrow key, you should see options in the right bottom of the screen.
  3. Go to the 12. position - "PLAN VIEW HIDE ENEMY PEOPLE". Click the right or left arrow to set this option as "NO".
  4. Save your game.

After these modifications your improved minimap will be always available in single and multiplayer games. As you can see in the screens below there's much difference between default and tweaked minimap.

There are also other modifications available with O key in cheat mode in the single player game. Most of them are not realy useful or make your multiplayer game resynchronised. The full list of all option can be found on the website: http://www.umluk.com/tsh/info_olist.html
