Overview
As blue on Craters, you’ll often be allied to yellow. In most games, yellow will get the firestorm stonehead rather than you (you can landbridge to it, but I don’t recommend it); it’s likely that red will get his team’s firestorm head too. You’ll want to focus on attacking red. Note that red can backdoor you at any time, and many times will double you with his ally. One of them may back door while the other distracts you, or both may back door at once. Therefore, regularly check your enemies’ shaman, and react quickly to any changes… before it’s too late. Red will get firestorms quickly, and if you let him get in and do damage to key areas of your base, it’s game over; this could happen less than 10 minutes from the game’s start.
As quickly as the game starts, charge only convert and keep converting until you have about 25 people. Then start charging landbridge immediately, and use it as shown above. You’re competing for control of the erode stonehead area with red. The erode itself is not that interesting, but the control of that map area is. One common strategy is charging an earthquake as fast as you can and using it on red. You may as well kill red’s shaman and use the earthquake on his firewarrior hut. You can quickly get some troops; warriors will be useful to attack his huts, and firewarriors to camp his reincarnation site. The earlier you can start doing these, the better; you can dominate red early in with good use of your shaman and troops. As well, consider blasting many of red’s trees and doing a brave rush, mass attacking red’s huts with braves. (brave rush video)
You may want to landbridge to the map centre hill from the erode stonehead area; it takes 2 LBs. This can help your team take the hill if you don’t have it.
Blue’s hills can easily be land bridged, and, even more destructively, your enemy can get on the hill and then landbridge another hill. You really should prevent this by all means; it’s quite powerful.
Mid-game, consider filling in your crater with landbridges in order to build more.
