'When do you want to start?' Thealosius asked. I thought for a while.
'Now,' I said simply. The priest looked up, quite surprised. Why was he surprised? I wanted to get my mana under control and wanted to do it quickly. I didn't want to continue being like this. He soon realised this and nodded again.
'Very well then. I understand why you want to start so early. You're first part of this control assessment is to see how much mana you have in you. Hold out both of your hands, palms up.' I did so. 'Good, good. Now concentrate and clear your mind completely. Then all that will be left will be the mana and we'll be able to see it and measure it. Go on, keep quiet and still and concentrate hard.' Thealosius told me, clearing my thoughts but it just wasn't possible. The concept of me being the Shaman was one thing I wasn't going to swallow easily, then there was the thing about becoming a god and then all that learning with -
'You're not concentrating!' Thealosius snapped. I opened my eyes and looked at the priest.
'I'm trying to but there are many things in the way.'
'Shall we leave it until tomorrow?' he suggested. I shook my head.
'I want to get this done now. I can't wait for another day. I have to learn this otherwise I'll be a mess. Please help me Thealosius.'
'That's what I'm here for. Close your eyes again and really try.' I closed my eyes again and began to think of nothing. My mind began to clear quickly, the thoughts of Shamans and Gods just floating away. My head was soon full of nothing and I could hear Thealosius doing something.
