   It was making me mad and angry. But why was it doing this? I thought mana was a good thing. We had always been taught that in primary and secondary school. It was one of the first things we said at the beginning of the year. Bless the good mana that keeps us safe and bless the everlasting Shaman. That was a bit of a lie - no Shaman was everlasting. I hadn't seen a Shaman before in my life because the previous one was dead before my mother gave birth to me.
'We have to work on that,' Thealosius said calmly. I nodded, feeling that I would say something I'd regret if I opened my mouth. 'It'll take some time to get use to but by next month you'll be back to your old self again.'
'But I'm not me,' I said miserably. 'I'll never be
me. I'll always be the Shaman. I wanted to have a normal life and yet I've been stuck here in this position. Don't get me wrong, I like being the Shaman,' I added at Thealosius's stare, 'but I would have liked to had a few more years to do some things independently. I have magic or

mana running through me so things will be a bit easier. I didn't want that. I wanted to be the same as everyone else and wanted to start my life up the same way everyone else did.'
'You can't really turn back now.' I glared at the priest. 'There's no point glaring at me! I didn't choose you. If there's anyone you should be glaring at, it's the Shaman's above you!' I rolled my eyes and breathed loudly through my nose. I didn't like this one bit. Thealosius knew that as well.
'It's just … bad timed that's all,' I said finally. Thealosius nodded.
'Apart from that, you still have a lot of things to do. There's a lot of learning -' I sighed '- but with that mana you'll pick it up fine. You should remain strong as a Shaman should. Never think that things are impossible because everything has a chance, even though it doesn't seem possible.' I gave a weak smile but at least it was genuine. 'At least you're smiling, that's a good sign. We should start first with getting the mana under control and then going on to learn the
