The Populous Tour Tournament is a new idea of a series of tournaments, designed by Fireproof, expected to take place near the start of every new year.

Despite evaluating players individualy, the tournament will be focusing on 2v2 game mode and its first stage is expected to start on February 1st, having 3 months duration. This stage is going to work as a league, where in each different week, a different map will be given for players to challenge each other.

Unlike the usual tournaments, Populous Tour 2015 will be exploring more than just the top played maps from Populous “You can expect us to be exploring some of our very own undiscovered worlds from lesser known/popular mappacks. Each week, a specific map will be selected to be played for that entire week. Before you get excited, you should know that this isn’t like any other tournament ever held before here on Populous 3!” (Fireproof, 2015)

The second stage of this tournament will be featuring games between the top players of the league, in order to determine an overall champion. The exact logic behind this stage is not fully known, as it will be ascertained depending on the total number of players that joined the league in the first stage.
