Khickman's Domain Becomes The Populous Vault
Thursday, March 17, 2005
To follow more to the themes in Populous, I have renamed the site from "Khickman's Domain" to "The Populous Vault". By doing so, new comers to the game will be able to search for my website and know that it is about Populous, instead of passing it by as if it were not Populous related on a Google Search. The name also has a nice sound to it, as if it were a large quantity of knowledge. You can expect the same and more from the website, despite the fact that it has a new name.

Projects Section Added
Monday, March 14, 2005
A new projects section has been added to the site to present viewers with information regarding my Populous: The Beginning projects. There are currently two posted, Skirmish Mode and Codename "New Life". Take a look at each section to find out more information about these projects.

I would also like to take this time to inform users to please read the page footer on my website, as it specifically says not to use any content from my site without my permission. If you have done this, please remove the content or ask me for permission to keep it up. You may always contact me via the e-mail link on the bottom of the page if you have any questions about borrowing things. Also, please remember that if you use information from my site to please site your source and if it is an item, such as a picture to leave it in its original form (unless you have my permission to change it otherwise). You may paraphrase what I have written on my website as long as you site your sources. Please do not hot-link to my files. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Screen Shots Page Completed!
Friday, March 11, 2005
The screen shots page is now complete and ready to be viewed. Thanks for your patience while I was rebuilding the website. The new screen shots page now has a bit more of a user-friendly environment, showing all of the avaliable images in thumbnails. A user may then click the thumnail to enlarge the image to its actual size.

Text Overlap Bugs Fixed!
Sunday, February 27, 2005

The screenshots page will have to be pushed back a little further, sorry, but now I have managed to fix all of the annoying bugs that would appear on the website using different browsers. These problems would mostly occur in Mozilla Firefox and sometimes Opera. The glitch was a text overlap problem in which the page footer would be placed over top of the bottom of the page, making the text nearly impossible to read. This error has now been fixed. With this error fixed, the page now likes nice for users using Mozilla Firefox 1.0 or newer, so I have added them to my recommended list of browsers in the "Site best viewed..." section of the page footer. Hope you enjoy!

On another note, I will now begin work on restoring the screenshots page and refining the downloads page for all to view. I am currently looking for a script that will yield a more professional layout for my screenshots. As for the downloads page, I plan on adding a few screenshots to go along with my file descriptions.

A New Look!
Friday, February 11, 2005

The new site design is finally finished! Take a look around and enjoy. I still need to work on the Screenshots page, however users will now find that there is a much better site layout for all browsers. The downlaods page has been completely revised in terms of layout now with pop-up descriptions to make less clutter on the page. I have also added a link to the Strategy Planet site via the Network section of the navigation bar. I would like to give Strategy Planet and Populous: Reincarnated a big thanks for hosting my site as it has now been up for more than a year. I would also like to thank IncaWarrior for putting up with all my annoying questions about repositioning things on the site. I hope you as viewrs enjoy the new layout as much as I have enjoyed improving it!

On another note, Populous has gone through some interesting times. TheGabber is hard at work completing his New Worlds 2004 edition maps while ALACN has finished his world editor (which contains a help file written by myself). ALACN now plans on decoding the game's script sctructures (the part of the game that controls the computer players and the individual single player game settings as well as the camera rotations). I will soon again be hard at work with Populous: Skirmish Mode as sone as enough of the scripting has been decoded to work with. On a more game play level of a note, the Populous clans TN (Team Nashua) and TDM (The Dark Masters) are hosting a clan tournament for all clans to be involved. This should be very interesting and also attract the growth of newer clans in the Populous community.

Big Changes
Tuesday, November 2, 2004

As of today I have decided to officially drop support for Populous: Legacy of the Dakini because it has produced more problems than I would like to deal with. The links to downlaod it have also been removed. I have also scrapped my Populous 4 section because of all the confusion that it has caused. I have, however, added some new things in its place. The first thing I have added is my Populous Launcher program. The second newly added feature is Populous: Skirmish Mode BETA 3! For more information concerning these two programs, go to the downloads section. Please do not send me emails reguarding the Populous 4 section of my site and Populous: Legacy of the Dakini, as I have decided to discard those projects. Dropping these projects that I have no desire to work on has allowed me to focus on new things for Populous Online.

New Links
Sunday, October 3, 2004

Some new links to IncaWarrior's Website and MicroFiend's Website have been added today. Since both sites are on the Strategyplanet server, you can acess these pages from the Navigation Table on the left. More detailed information concerning these websites can be found on the Links page.

Minor Site Tweaks
Saturday, August 21, 2004

To increase the viewing pleasure of my site, and to prevent my site visitors from getting terminal eyestrain, I have changed the color of my visited links, and page headers from that red color (which is hard to see on that brown background) to a light brownish color. On a less visual note, I changed some of the page navigation URL's so that it is a bit more organized. I also managed to fix a few typos along the way, although I wasn't really looking for them.

Basic Populous News
Wednesday, August 18, 2004

First of all, sorry for not updating in such a long while. There are many small changes that have gone on in the Populous: Online Community since the last site update. Many small clans have started appearing to rival the current power of TN. (Team Nashua) Such clans include CT (Chumara Tribe), and the clan I now am an administrator of DT (Dragon Team). Aside from the clans a new Matchmaker update was released (V 1.2.4.2) which allows for the additions of user implemented lobbies for private matches. Another issue was also fixed that allowed users to Login to the server and connect too quickly resulting in a "Problems with server" error. To prevent this Login and wait for the "Logout" button to appear before connecting to the lobby.

On another note, TheGabber and Incawarrior are cracking down on People who host their downloads at http://strategyplanet.com/populous/ on their own third-party sites. People who violate this rule have been notified in the forums and have been asked to remove the content and replace it with a link to Populous: Reincarnated. Users who continue to violate these rules will "Either we will ban you from using our products, or we might contact your internet provider/host about your deeds.." as quoted directly from TheGabber himself.

More Site Bug Fixes
Saturday, June 19, 2004

Yet another set of bugges in the site code were fixed. Thanks to the removal of Microsoft's Front Page I have managed to fix numerous bugs that have been plaguing me for the last month. Two of the major glitches were the fileplanet add, which has been either gone or misplaced for about a month, and the Multiplayer Rules page, which too was gone for a month. This page was lost in the site overhaul when Front Page was used in production of the website. You can now see all of the adds are in their proper spot and not causing problems on the site and now you can view the Multiplayer Rules section from the links on the left or by clicking here.

Site Bug Fix
Saturday, May 16, 2004

Today I fixed a small bug in the tables of the website. (The tables are the area in which the site content is posted, like what you are reading now.) The bug was that some of the text would appear off to the far left of the table, making it look below my expectations, so this has now been fixed. As time progresses, I may add some more things to the site. I hope to add some three-dimensional buttons that when you hover over them it looks like they are being pushed in. Plus I hope to add a border to the Strategy Planet advertisement in the upper part of the page. Also, after realizing that my help page was extremely out of date, I decided to update it, so now you can go to the help section to find information on the newer versions of the Populous Matchmaker.

New Site Design
Saturday, May 15, 2004

As you may have just noticed, I have completely redone the site. Hopefully I will stay happy with this design and keep it like this for a long time to come. Aside from a new look, that looks much better than the one before in my opinion, the page has become more user friendly for 56k users. For example- this main page should now load in about 33 seconds for you 56k people. I have also made the site flow a little better, adding topics and icons to the news posts. I hope you as users enjoy the new look of the site as much as I enjoyed hand making many of the graphics (except for the jumping shamans and the shaman mask in the upper-left corner) found on this site. Enjoy.
