I looked down and saw Bartholomew there. 'Do something! Cast the firestorm!' he commanded. 'I can't!' I roared, crying. It was hopeless - the town had been so happy when I had become the Shaman. Now, I bet they hated me, wishing that I had never appeared. 'Well improvise! Combine a few spells. Use your head and do it quickly! We haven't got that long and the army cannot hold the enemy!' I flicked through the book again and combined a few weak spells. I used the invisibility spell and the fireball that created an invisible blast that took out around ten people of the Matak tribe but that was it. I screamed in frustration and agony. I moved on through the book, ignoring the little voice. I looked at the earthquake and saw it was too much and next to it was erode. Both were powerful spells that needed a great amount of mana. Thealosius. But this was one of those times that you cannot keep abiding to the law. I saw the Matak Shaman reappearing and cast another lightning bolt that took her out instantly. The wave of mana boosted my moral incredibly and I placed the mask upon my head. Then looking out to the enemy, I raised my staff. 'LAKANU!' The ground shook severely and rumbles appeared that went from the settlement to the enemy. The gaps between became infused with water and before I knew it, the whole of the land in front of the settlement had disappeared - taken over by water. The Matak army began drowning before my eyes. I heard our army praising me and Bartholomew jumping for joy. I had finally done something right! I felt pleased with myself and when the luck soldiers of the enemy reached land and ran away, I knew we had won. It had been my first test and I had passed with flying colours.
