  There were loud roars from the top of the hill. I began to feel scared and alone. There really was no one to help me - as everyone expected me to help them. The enemy was full of warriors, their swords gleaming even though it was raining. The army was beginning to filter out of the barracks and form a line at the front of the town. I had no idea how I was going to lead all of these people to battle when I was such a beginner.
  Bartholomew had ran to the lower levels of the temple to collect my mask and he soon came back, placing on it my face.
'You need the mask Shaman - it's tradition. And don't you say anything about it.'
'I won't,' I said. The mask wasn't as heavy as it felt when it was placed on me at my initiation. A small group of warriors from the enemy moved outwards and towards the settlement. My army, I knew, felt scared and worried like I was.
'Another book,' Bartholomew said happily, even though the Matak army was a stone throw away. 'I don't think a flood would work - the

storm is doing most of that work. Tornado would be no good as you cannot control it - a swamp is too smaller thing. We could try a firestorm but that could be a bit tricky.'
'Anything,' I said desperately. 'I don't care what it takes - I need to get rid of the enemy quickly.'
  Bartholomew thrust a book in front of my face but I couldn't see it with the mask on. 'I think I'm going to need a bit of help.
'That's good to see,' he said. 'At least you're trying to be in the best of moods when it seems impossible.' He took the mask off and pointed to the part I would have to learn very quickly.
'
Toomaga is the incantation. You have to imagine rain falling but with the brutality of fire - just think along the same lines as that lightning bolt that you produced today and you'll be fine. We could even end up with lightning fire if you are really good at this!'
  I felt happier and confidence ran through my body along with adrenalin. I continuously went over the spell until I knew the whole page off by
